How cool is this modern take on an antique-style dining table by Brett Beldock for CB2?! The marble top and black and gold accents inspired a casual bistro look for this dining area. We’re giving a little nod to French Deco style with black cowhide chairs and a distinctive woven cabinet. Modern dish ware, a brass pendant light, and organic dotted rug contrast with the more vintage-style pieces to keep our space casually contemporary. The old world meets new world theme spills over onto our dynamic gallery wall! A color-block acrylic piece plays off of this peach still life to give the dining area some refreshing pops of color.

If you’ve been keeping up with me on my instagram or LTK page, you’ve probably seen some snapshots from me working on my own living room refresh — naturally, I’ve had living rooms on the brain! I’ve been loving this southwestern rug from Wayfair of all places. It gives a perfect neutral effect with little pops of color, and is a total steal for the size. Mixing the materials of a sofa and other seating in the room always makes a design more dynamic. I love the combo of a velvet sofa paired with leather chairs! The black metal of the casual butterfly chair ties into both the legs of the minimal coffee table and the industrial electric fireplace. A quality electric fireplace can add so much ambiance to a room without the costs and struggle of a renovation!
Black accents mix with light furniture in this relaxed dining room design. The stylish mixed metals in the Adeline chandelier from Lulu and Georgia make for a smart combination and inspire other dark accents scattered throughout the space. I’m loving this rattan and upholstered dining chair from Crate & Barrel — it’s such a simple and versatile piece that could work with so many different styles! Natural textures are a staple for designing with that California-casual feel in mind. A woven jute rug sets the stage for a bleached-wood dining table, backed by a pair of rounded bookcases. Incorporating shelving in a dining room can be a great way to add some extra storage space and display more decorative glasses and serving-ware.
