OVERVIEW:

We had SO MUCH FUN creating this neutral but cozy family living room design! We decided to keep the color palette neutral but not boring, using various shades of cream, gray, and brown, with little pops of black and white. We layered lots of texture and brought in some plants to bring the space to life. Overall the goal was to give this room a design concept that is modern AND timeless. We created a cozy and relaxed feel that our clients can enjoy for years so to come!

As always, we started with a furniture layout for our client’s living room. After a few ideas were presented they decided on a layout that used their fireplace as a focal point and their beautiful backyard as a background. In the plan we included a large sectional chaise from West Elm and modern faux leather side chair from Ashley Home Furniture. With two pets in house, having an easy to clean rug was super important to our clients, so we recommended a large 9 x 12 washable area rug from Ruggable. The rug also creates a visual grounding for the sitting area. Side-by-side work stations were a request and have been positioned on the back wall, near the entryway. We are loving the look of two large black & white graphic prints placed above each desk. 

For this particular project we also assisted with choosing a new hardwood floor and a new fireplace facade. We are also currently in the process of looking at some new backsplash options for the wet-bar area. For the fireplace we recommended smoothing out the clients existing drywall to create a smoother texture to match the walls. We also suggested a natural wood floating mantel for a modern and minimalist look. 

This house is new to our clients and we feel so privileged to be able to help them make it their home! With our extended design service, we are now helping bring our design concept to life.
