Hi friends! This home hack creates a stylish fix for your toilet brush eyesore. Let’s be honest—no one wants to see a toilet brush sitting out in the open, no matter how clean or “modern” its design claims to be. But what if you could hide it in plain sight, without sacrificing function or style? Enter: the decorative vase hack.
The Problem: Toilet Brush = Instant Eyesore
Even the sleekest bathroom can be thrown off by the sight of a toilet brush. It’s one of those necessities that doesn’t quite earn a place in your curated aesthetic. You could stash it under the sink, but then it’s inconvenient. So, what’s the solution?
The Stylish Fix: Use a Decorative Vase
The secret lies in repurposing a tall, stylish vase to conceal your toilet brush setup. Here’s how:
Option 1: Brush Only
If the top opening of the vase is just wide enough, you can simply rest the toilet brush right inside. The bristles sit down in the vase, and the handle peeks out—still accessible, but much more attractive than a plastic holder.
Option 2: Brush + Holder Combo
If your vase has a wider opening and enough height, you can hide the entire brush and its holder inside. This keeps everything neat, contained, and—most importantly—hidden. Look for vases made of ceramic, stoneware, or textured glass to add a decorative touch that matches your bathroom’s style.
Tips for Picking the Right Vase:
-
Height: At least 12–14 inches to fit standard brush sizes.
-
Opening Size: Wide enough for the brush handle to fit comfortably, or the entire holder to nest inside.
-
Material: Choose something waterproof or easy to clean—bathrooms are humid places!
Here is a short video I posted to YouTube showing how I did this in my own home!

It can take a little time and experimenting to find the perfect size vase for your toilet brush or you can start fresh with the same toilet brush I have from Amazon paired with this cream colored ceramic vase from Target.
Bonus Touch: Add a Lid
Some vases come with lids or can be topped with a custom cover (think wood or ceramic disc) for extra concealment. Just be sure it’s easy to remove when you need to grab the brush quickly.
