I’m excited to share this Irvine interior design feature for my client’s baby boy’s nursery! Nurseries are some of my favorite rooms to design because they offer so much opportunity to bring in playful color and pattern. My client is a busy working mom who wanted a nursery that felt special for her little one.
Although the room is small, wood paneling on the lower portion of the walls paired with Sunflower block print wallpaper above will draw the eye upward and give the space more depth and character.
We’re using a crib and dresser in a medium wood tone from the Chris Loves Julia collection at Pottery Barn. These pieces pair beautifully with the Namesake Devon Swivel Rocker from Crate & Barrel. A denim blue and taupe area rug from Wayfair brings softness and ties the palette together, while a beautiful full-length mirror from Layla Grayce adds a finishing touch.
For the windows, we’re combining light-filtering woven wood shades with blackout curtains, giving my client flexibility to enjoy soft natural light during the day and darken the room for naps and bedtime.
