I am currently helping my clients choose the amenities for their Lake Arrowhead Airbnb. It’s not our typical design project, but I have experience doing this with our own three vacation rental units in Colorado, so I was happy to help with recommendations.
BEDROOM AMENITIES
For the bedrooms I always recommend using 100% cotton white sheets and pillow cases. The Threshold Collection at Target is actually one of my favorites for sheets. They are super soft and last a long time! I also recommend a lightweight down comforter and separate comforter cover. When it comes to duvet covers (comforter covers) I always go with ones that have button closures rather than zippers. In my experience the zippers break quickly while the buttons tend to last for a long time.
For pillows I like to go with two pillows per person, so (2) on a single bed, and (4) on a double, queen, or king bed. In general choose a medium density pillow OR go with one soft and one firm for each person. We always use pillow protectors in our rental units which helps the actual pillow last longer and remain stain free. While I personally prefer all white bedding, you can go with a different color for your comforter cover if you like. Just be ware that colors do tend to fade quickly while white can be bleached to always looks bright and fresh. That said, I do like adding a little color to each bed with some decorative pillows and a throw blanket at the end.

BATHROOM AMENITIES
In our vacation rental bathrooms we use the Beekman 1802 – Fresh Air Collection by Pineapple Hospitality. They have lots of options for individual travel sized soaps, shampoos, lotions, and body wash. The “Fresh Air” collection smells great and the bottles are pretty to look at! For towels we use all white cotton except for the “Make-Up” towels which we provide in addition. As an added luxury we also provide terrycloth bathrobes and a luggage rack in each guest room closet.
