Keeping things nautical but nice in this nautical bathroom with blue/grey rug! I wanted to create a comfortable space that appeals to all ages in this classic bathroom with touches of maritime fun. The ocean is on my mind as we’re getting into summertime here in California!
First, let’s talk about the foundation of the space—the white and grey marble floor. This classic choice evokes a sense of elegance and pairs perfectly with the coastal theme. It also reflects the light, creating an airy and open feel reminiscent of the sunny CA coastline.
Next, we have the side-by-side cool-toned wooden vanities. With their natural oak finish, they add warmth and a touch of rustic charm to the room. These vanities offer ample storage space, and ensure that no one will be fighting for time when it comes to brushing teeth or getting ready for bed.
To enhance the overall aesthetic and provide plenty of lighting, classic black vanity lights have been installed over sleek black arched mirrors. The combination of black hardware and mirrors adds a slight masculine edge to the bathroom, and the dark tones have me wanting to say “anchors aweigh!”
When it comes to faucets, I find that allen + roth offers some of the best prices without compromising on quality. This black centerset faucet is a great choice for this space, with its clean lines and simple design contribute to the classic yet casual vibe.
To add a whimsical touch, I incorporated a black and white photo of sailboats. This artwork brings a sense of imagination and adventure to the space, transporting you to the breezy California coastline. It serves as a reminder of the carefree days spent sailing on the open sea.It’s like a window to the ocean, reminding us of the joy of sailing under the Californian sun.
A key element in this design is the Santiago rug from AllModern. Its blue/grey color palette effortlessly ties into the nautical theme, while the subtle Southwestern-inspired pattern adds a touch of uniqueness. It’s the perfect anchor for this bathroom’s design.
With a blend of nautical elements, California-Casual style, and carefully selected decor pieces, this bathroom design captures the feeling of a summertime escape! We wanted to create a soothing atmosphere, reminiscent of sailing along the California coast.
